Otis and Mary Eliza Fincher Collier

Otis Collier, born 8 May 1867, was the son of Vines Hicks and Eugenia (Ginny) A. M. Collier (nee Means)1.  

Mary Eliza Fincher, born 15 February 1873, was the daughter of Mary Adeline (nee Adams) and William Thomas Fincher2.  

Mary and Otis married on 7 October 1894 in Pike County, Georgia.  They were the parents of eight known children:  Jesse, Paul, William, Frank, Felix, Jennie, Harry, and Joseph F. Collier.  

Mary passed away 3 May 1923 at age 50; and Otis died 11 March 1944 at age 76.  Both are buried in Fincher Memorial Cemetery, Meansville, Pike County, Georgia.


1Eugenia Means Collier was the daughter of John and Nancy McGinty Means, founders of Meansville, Georgia.

2William Thomas Fincher was the oldest son of Joseph Travis Fincher of Pike County, Georgia.  William's and his father's adventures in the Civil War are related in "Civil War Through the Eyes of a Common Soldier, as told in the letters of the Fincher family.
